This is perfect for in-ground or above ground with a deck. The grommets that hold the solar blankets could use a bit more refining as they don't always snap in place. It is easy to put together and will work with a variety of pool widths.

Once assembled it works fine. The instructions could be better.

This reel replaces a 20 year old one, and is of equal quality if not better. The engineering, is significantly improved, and is much easier to handle and roll up. The instructions, as others have commented, leave a little bit to be desired. They are likely no worse than IKEA's so if you can understand those, you can figure out these ones. Just take your time, use a photo of a completed set up, and work your way through it. This unit works far than my older one ever did, do for that, I am exceptionally happy.

I compared a lot of reels before settling on this one. I took a chance since it didn't have any reviews yet but I was not disappointed. They are all very similar so I narrowed my search down to two things. Price and the tee connection on the end pieces. Some appear to have plastic tee connectors that seem to me like something that could fail in the future with no easy fix. This one has TIG welded tee connections that look nicer and should last forever. They all have a lot of plastic fittings but nothing on this one that I don't feel that I could repair when the time comes. The plastic hubs on the wheels were average but the tires were surprisingly thick and heavy, with a quality feel. Some crank wheels, on the others, have bright colors but this one is black and grey. Looks nice without standing out like a sore thumb. Packed with very heavy duty vinyl end protectors on the tubes so everything arrived in perfect condition. If I had it to do over, this is still the one I would buy.

This unit was welded metal, not plastic frame which would almost certainly fail in the Florida sun due to plastic fatigue. Very easy to use, and to move away when not in use. Great product, good value.

We bought this item primarily because it was a well reviewed and also pricewise was acceptable. Tell you the truth when I was assembling it I was thinking that it’s not gonna do the job because the pole was looking pretty weak. To my surprise it works pretty well. What I would suggest - is to have the turning wheel on both sides. It still will allow to carry the item from one place to another. But at the same time when you do it with some of your friends, it’s much easier to rotate if its vailable on both sides rather than on one. But all in all price and function so far are very good. I would suggest it for anyone who wants to use. It on midsize pool because the amount of cover will be proportional to the size obviously and the tube may not be strong enough for the big cover.

Prompt delivery and very easy to install. This was designed for an in ground pool but works very well for an above ground pool provided your pool is surround by a deck. Light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Adjustable to pool width.

Easy to assemble, but we did end up using our own self-tapping screws for a more secure fit. For the money, it is just what we wanted.

Seems very well built, sturdy, etc. Currently holding a 20 foot wide cover, sags a little when fully rolled up, but they all will do that...
